  1. Commercial Products

    No paid advertisement, except for the Optimist International Foundations and candidates for International Office, in The Optimist magazine shall contain the reference to any individual’s present or past Optimist title, membership affiliation, notation of affiliation, or name an employee of Optimist International.

  2. Right of Refusal

    Optimist International retains the right to refuse any potential advertisement. All advertising copy is subject to publisher approval.

The Optimist will not accept advertising for the following items:

Tobacco products
Products not compatible with the purposes of Optimist International
Programs that conflict with Optimist International programs
Programs that conflict with programs promoted by the Optimist International Foundations

The Optimist Magazine – Copyrights 

The entire contents of The Optimist Magazine are copyrighted; and, therefore, anyone wishing to reprint from The Optimist Magazine must secure permission to do so.Reprinted articles must display the following credit line: "Reprinted from The Optimist Magazine, copyright, Optimist International." Optimist clubs may reprint articles from The Optimist Magazine without securing permission, providing the above credit line is used. Optimist International does not have the right to grant permission to reprint any articles in The Optimist Magazine bearing copyright of the author or of another publication. Such permission must be obtained from the person or publication holding the original copyright.

The Optimist Magazine - Other Magazine Articles

Before any article under the by-line of Optimist International is published in any magazine, it must be cleared through the International Executive Director.
