Charter Members – Definition

The Charter Membership of a new club applying for affiliation with Optimist International shall consist of those individuals who have established bona fide membership and submitted proper forms, fees and dues as required by the new Club's Bylaws at the new Club's official Organizational Meeting. The Charter Roster will close on the 15th day following the formal Organizational Meeting.

Charter Members who cannot be present at the Official Organizational Meeting may become Charter Members by complying with all the requirements and submitting the required membership fees and forms in writing to the Field Representative in time to be included on the Club’s Charter Roster.

The new Club must have at least 15 fully paid Charter Members. The first 15 Members shall not be current Members of any Optimist Club. Existing Optimist Member may join the New Club only after the Club has achieved the minimum Membership of 15.
