Optimist Junior Golf, in cooperation with Shotstat, will feature live scoring. See tee times, results and the hole-by-hole scores of players as they compete.
Registration, driving range and tournament takes place at the Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy located at 2051 Golf Academy Way, North Myrtle Beach, SC, 29582.
Age Divisions and Eligibility
Age divisions offered: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13 and Girls 14-18, Girls 11-13. The age division corresponds to the junior golfer's age they will be on the last day of the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships (age 11-13 (July 22), age 14-15 (July 27), age 16-18 (August 2)). To be eligible, golfers may not be enrolled in college. All golfers may apply to "play up" and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
** All players must meet the scoring criteria for this event in order to qualify for the Championships:

Top finishers will be exempt from having to qualify for the summer 2017 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida as follows:

Competition is 36-hole stroke play. Carts and caddies are prohibited for all tournament rounds. Time and weather permitting, a playoff will occur for first place positions only. All other ties will be broken using a scorecard playoff.

7 am -- Range Opens
7 am - Coffee, Bagels & Muffins (parents, players, staff and volunteers)
7 am- 11 am -- Tournament registration (for players who didn't register Friday).
8 am – 12:30 pm-- Tournament Round 1 - Norman Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf
Noon – 4 pm -- Tournament Cookout - Logan's (parents, players, staff and volunteers)
Sunday, March 5
7 am -- Range Opens
7:00 am -- Coffee, Bagels & Muffins (parents, players, staff and volunteers)
8 am – 12:30 pm -- Tournament Round 2
Noon – 4 pm -- Lunch-Chipolte's (parents, players, staff and volunteers)
Immediately Following Play -- Awards ceremony
* GNCGA will be providing a heated tent with chairs and tables to accommodate the players and parents during the cookout and throughout the tournament.
* Complimentary coffee, as well as fruit, bagels and muffins will also be provided in the mornings.
The registration fee for the tournament is $198.00 US. The registration fee includes two tournament rounds, range balls prior to play, golfer's lunch on both tournament round days, and an Optimist Golf gift package. Player or family is responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. Deadline to registration – February 15, 2017 – registration based on space availability –first come-first serve.
Refund Policy: Please review the following refund policy before withdrawing from an Optimist Junior Golf event:
Tournaments: Players that have registered for a tournament may withdraw between the date of their registration and three weeks prior to the event's first tee time and receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.
After three weeks prior to the first tee time, players will be charged $100 of the original entry fee.
10 days or less of the first tee time, no refund will be issued.

Travel and Transportation
Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy is located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, approximately 17 miles from the Myrtle Beach International airport (MYR).
Optional practice rounds are available on Friday, March 3. Call Barefoot Resort at (843) 390.3200 for available times. Greens fee cost is $60.00 (includes cart). All fees for practice rounds are payable directly to Barefoot Resort.
Driving Range and Putting Green
Registration includes range balls prior to play and unlimited access to practice greens on days of rounds.
Rules and Regulations
The tournament will be played in accordance with all USGA and local course rules. A local rules sheet will be given to all players at tournament registration. All participants are responsible for following the Optimist Golf Code of Conduct. Violations to any rules or regulations may result in stroke penalties or disqualification. Severe violations of the Code of Conduct will result in immediate disqualification and the golfer will be sent home at the first available opportunity at his/her own expense.

Pace of Play and Tips
Carts, Pull Carts, Caddies and Distance Measuring Devices
Electric carts and caddies are prohibited in all age divisions for all tournament rounds. Pull carts are allowed in all age divisions for all tournament rounds. Participants must provide their own equipment. Electric carts for spectators are permitted for a fee at the discretion of the host site.
Distance measuring devices are allowed. Players may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
Completion of Play
Provided there are no weather or other delays, the final round is scheduled to conclude by 4:00 p.m. Please plan your departures accordingly and allow for ample time for airport transfers. If the final round cannot be completed by dark due to weather delays or unforeseen circumstances, the tournament will revert back to the last 18 holes completed by the entire field. If inclement weather suspends play on the final day of the tournament and it is determined that all players in an age division cannot complete 18 holes by dark but the entire field in an age division can complete a common 9 holes, then the tournament will revert to a 27-hole event. If a common 9 holes cannot be completed on the final day then the tournament will revert back to the last stipulated round completed by the entire field in an age division.
Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place in all age divisions. In case of ties, there will be a playoff for first place only. Second place tie will be determined by a scorecard playoff.
