International Directory and Mailing Lists - Use Of

1. Scope

This policy governs the use, access, and distribution of the Official Directory and mailing lists of Optimist International, including all member and leadership contact information.

2. Policy Statement

The Official Directory and mailing lists, which contain the names and addresses of Club, District, and International officers and members, are records held in trust.

Use of these records for commercial, political, or solicitation purposes is strictly prohibited.

Use of such lists is permitted only for purposes that are consistent with the objectives of Optimist International, and only as authorized by the Board of Directors based on the requester's leadership position.

3. Authorized Use for Elections

To support informed decision-making by Club Officers during elections:

Declared candidates for the offices of:
- President-Elect
- Vice President-Elect
- Director-At-Large
may obtain mailing and email addresses of:
- Club Presidents
- Secretaries
- Treasurers

A request for club address listings made be made only once per candidate during a campaign period.
